4 startup trends for 2022 that will soon be everywhere on Instagram
2022 is the year of my main character. There, I said it! I dress up every day, or at least put on a nice pair of boots. We all know that shoes can elevate even the simplest of outfits, which is why I’ve got my eye on the best 2022 boot trends. And luckily, there’s quite a bit to choose from!
First on the list is a trend for my girls who love a moment in heels but haven’t worn real heels since pre-pandemic. Thin-heeled boots are very fashionable, but it’s up to you whether you choose to go with sky-high stilettos or soft, thin kitten heels. My personal favorites? A lightweight stiletto with a flared base.

Next up is a slightly more casual look dubbed The Slouch. The soft boots were cool wow at the time, but they’re definitely getting the revival they deserve this season. My advice? Stay away from suede to avoid looking dated and instead opt for shiny patents or printed leather for a fresh feel. That said, a chocolate brown suede slouch still gives me butterflies. Call me old fashioned!
Then there’s a personal favorite for running, the combat boot. Remember when we all had the same pair in high school? Now they’re definitely a bit thicker and cooler, perfect for pairing with ultra-feminine looks for a satisfying contrast.

Last but not least, this one is a little obvious: knee-high boots are officially replacing your favorite over-the-knee ones. Sorry in advance if you’ve ~invested~ in this Stuart Weitzman pair! You can still wear them, but consider adding at least one knee-high pair in a fun shade to your wardrobe, stat.

Lugged soles gave last year’s boots a bold feel, but for 2022 we’re back to classic combat. With a fresh look, of course! This time around, pair yours with girly cuts for more contrast instead of tucking them into skinny jeans like you did in high school. Cringe.
Amalia All Season Boot
You can’t go wrong with a classic combat boot, especially when it comes in this beautiful tobacco brown color. Nisolo’s Amalia boot is a crowd pleaser as it matches every colorway. The brand is known and loved for its high-end designs, and these boots are no exception. They also aim to maintain 0% net carbon emissions by offsetting their own footprint by 100%. And to go even further, every Nisolo purchase guarantees 100% living wages to the people who create their products. In addition to being incredible, these combat boots feel unbelievable. They’re built with custom memory foam insoles and rubber soles that absorb all kinds of pressure before it hits your feet. 1460 Pascal Virginia leather boot
If you want to invest in combat boots that will last a lifetime, look no further than Dr. Martens. I love the Pascal Virginia leather boots for a wear-with-everything option you’ll never tire of.
1460 Pascal Virginia leather boot $150
For a dressier feel, opt for a bold combat silhouette in a more feminine hue, like the pristine off-white of the aptly named Irresistible Booties by Seychelles. The chunky black block heel adds the perfect contrast.
Irresistible bootie $169
Stilettos are all the rage, so say goodbye to your crispy block heels. I know it’s hard to move on, but you have to! That said, if you don’t like high, skinny heels, a shorter stiletto heel is just as chic for everyday wear. Bonus points if you opt for a flared skinny heel for a little extra interest!
Here is the perfect black boot. From the pointed toe and stiletto heel to the unique asymmetrical upper, the Francis boot takes on a monochromatic black look and adds a bit of interest.
Francois Botte $248
If you prefer the flared skinny heel I mentioned earlier, these Adi boots will suit your style. The square toe, contrast stitching and creamy, dreamy hue are to die for.
Adi boot $225
I didn’t think this trend could make a triumphant comeback, but I’m corrected and excited to try it! Soft boots are back, baby, and don’t think you have to dress them up for a casual look.
A classic brown soft boot like the Jessamy looks great with everything from tucked-in denim to flowy boho skirts. Talk about versatile.
Jessamy boot $170
Mandee Boot 2
If you prefer a pop of color, these Marc Fisher boots come in black, white, purple, and (my favorite, duh) dark green.
Mandee Boot 2 $99.99
Do you remember thigh high boots? LOL, me neither. Knee-highs are everything right now, so don’t be afraid to put some lotion on those kneecaps before you reveal them to the world! Since the silhouette of a classic knee-high boot is quite understated, feel free to be bold with color, texture, or any other statement details. Or, you know, channel your inner cowboy.
Shoelery (shoe jewelry) gives a plain white boot like the Felinda a bit more punch. These babies are certainly pleading for silver accents to make their long-awaited return.
Felinda boot $137.40 (instead of $229)
Western Dagget Boot
Cowboy boots are always in style, but only if you’re daring. How about the knee-high Dagget boots in two-tone teal?
Western Dagget Boot $299.95
