The artists know how to do everything possible for Art Basel, even going so far as to take their art to the streets. Sorry, we’re talking about your feet. One place in Wynwood takes the term ‘sneakerhead’ to a whole new level, combining art and footwear.

These sneakers are not made for walking. It’s art !

Grails in Wynwood kicked off Art Basel with something the perfect size.

Eddie Fuentes, Grails Restaurant & Bar: “Grails is the world’s first sneaker-themed restaurant. We’re responding to everything in the sneaker world, and this week we’re trying to highlight and educate a whole bunch of great causes, as well as celebrate local talent and all the artists here in Miami.

Check out this one-of-a-kind sneaker wall created by the artists Grails brought together.

Each kick has a unique design and will be auctioned off. Profits will be donated to SIDES, a local charity that helps children with cancer.

Tiago Magro: “The sneaker wall basically expresses how much artists love culture and how we can contribute to culture, and apply our talent to sneakers that can not only be a display as an art, but also help us. understand how much we can contribute to the fashion world.

If you can’t make a pair, don’t worry. You can always sip from your waist.

Yes, this is a sneaker that you can drink in and enjoy art at the same time.

This art consists of paying to the next.

Local artist and veteran Jose Belen created living paintings in honor of local veterans.

Jose Belen: “I go through several stages – from the fire to the painting – at the end of the day I take a step back and I’m like, ‘You know what? He’s ready to go home. It’s a way for them to live. It is a way for the warriors to live through each room.

Tito Puente Jr., son of legendary mambo composer Tito Puente, was also present. He received a coin in honor of his late father, who served in World War II.

Tito Puente Jr: “I think today’s artwork was very memorable, just because we educate all the veterans who were here. The beautiful wall they presented is something really special. It also brings light to the community.
