The Air Nasu 2 from Nike ACG is a mix of the best outdoor sneakers

As the world slowly opens up, Nike’s ACG sub-label, dedicated to sustainability and exploring the outdoors, is making a welcome return with a new model of footwear. Called the ACG Air Nasu 2, the sneaker follows on from the original ACG Air Nasu, updating the all-terrain model with breathable ripstop fabric and a welded fender for added protection.

Nike ACG’s first Air Nasu debuted in 2020 as part of the Mt. Fuji Collection. Named after Nasu, Japan, a small town known for its hikes and natural hot springs, the Air Nasu is inspired by older Nike outdoor models like the Air Humara and the ACG Zoom Terra Zaherra. Designed to protect its wearer from cold weather conditions and slippery rocks, the utility shoe offered a grippy midsole, hard rubber toe pad, and GORE-TEX lining.

Robust runners – As an updated counterpart, the Air Nasu 2 sees many features of the original sneaker modified for warmer summer weather. By removing the shoe’s initial mesh rubber upper, Nike instead opts for a lightweight semi-sheer fabric that’s reinforced with ripstop for durability. Rubberized toe caps, mudguards, and heel counters keep the sneaker sturdy if you literally hit rocks on your hike.

And just as the first Air Nasu referred to the Air Humara, the second version nods slightly at the heel-locking straps of the ACG Pocketknife. At this point, the Air Nasu 2 can simply be seen as a mix of Nike’s best outdoor sneakers, making it perhaps the brand’s best to date.

Three color palettes of the new ACG model are available: an earthy “Smoky Mauve” is dressed in bright red accents, a “Gray Fog” displays pops of yellow and a “Black / Anthracite” sees black details with a light tan. . All styles feature a large triangular ACG badge on their heel with reflective piping highlighting the collar and top eyelets. Speckled details – on “Smoky Mauve” and “Gray Fog” iterations only – decorate the midsole of the shoe.

Arrive just in time for the fall hikes – All three make-ups for the Nike ACG Air Nasu 2 are set to debut at select retailers on August 2, alongside a possible SNKRS release. Retailing at $ 120, the rugged shoes are among the cheapest outdoor sneaker options, meaning they won’t be around for long – add their ACG endorsement and the shoes are as if gone.
