The list of travel kits: snow kit for the 21/22 ski season
Salomon Radium Pro Sigma Goggles
When Salomon developed Sigma lens technology, it looked at how our eyes register light and color and made adjustments specifically for snow whiteness. New Radium Pro is a premium ski goggle with a wide-angle Sigma lens that helps skiers handle bright sun, as well as white powder days. The design can also fit most glasses. £160.
Protective gloves Shred All MTN D-Lux
American slalom giant Ted ‘The Shred’ Ligety’s eponymous brand is developing protective gear for skiers and the latest offering is the All MTN D-Lux gloves. Shred’s SLYTECH system keeps fingers, thumbs and knuckles heavily cushioned during any impact and PrimaLoft insulation does the job of keeping them warm. For skiers who like to explore off-piste, slalom, park and piste, this extra protection seems like a practical option. £139.
Dolomite Move Road Low GTX
The Dolomite Move Road runs low, but the Gore-Tex material is waterproof and the Michelin sole grips exceptionally well. This all-in-one solution is equally comfortable on the plane, in a restaurant or around the resort. For sledding in deep snow, a full boot is best, but otherwise this sleek option is more than enough for most activities. £150.
Towards the heights of the sky
If you can’t get enough of the tracks – even in bed with a book – then try this new collection of ski stories from authors such as Bill Bryson and Ian Fleming. The book was compiled by former British team skier Ingrid Christophersen, with proceeds going to the Snow-Camp charity. £30.
