Todd Snyder Drops 2 Limited Edition Danner Mountain Light Boots

The Mountain Light is a rare breed; the mid-top boot is loved by streetwear stans and nature lovers alike – a happy medium that’s equal parts outdoor and high fashion. This made limited edition versions a dime a dozen: a all-black pair for Bond’s 60th birthdayco-branded pairs for labels like J-Crew or Snow Peak and streamlined versions made to measure by designers like JJJJoundfor example.

Now, Todd Snyder has released its own little Mountain Lights batch: two pairs of custom-dyed suede in a pair of colors it calls Todd Snyder Moss and Todd Snyder Tan.

“I always look for brands that have mastered their craft and dance has always been that. The Mountain Light stands the test of time as one of the most iconic boots on the market. Says Snyder. “They’re functional on the outside, but also provide a specific level of style in your day-to-day.”

The boots providing the right amount of ruggedness for the middle ground that menswear occupies these days, making it nearly equal parts city, outdoors, and even prep. These boots fit right into every arena, thanks to their “tall but capable” look and feel. The Mountain Light is made in the USA with a one-piece suede upper, Gore-Tex linings, and tonal Vibram outsoles. The fiberglass upper offers arch support, while the stitched construction promises durability and the ability to resole the boots once the outsoles are removed.

And that’s probably what will come first, especially with everyday use, because Danner boots are built to last. This is why the brand has endured since its creation in the first half of the 20th century. Now Snyder hopes to help carry his torch even further into the 21st.
