New York follows New Jersey and Mannings to grant nine mobile sports betting licenses

The booming US sports betting market received two big nudges earlier this week, with New York State finally licensing legalized mobile sports betting and quarterback Manning’s family shutting down. associated with Caesars Sportsbook as brand ambassadors.

New York lagged behind neighboring New Jersey in the betting market, as the Garden State became the first to exceed $ 1 billion in monthly bets in September, almost 91% bet via mobile devices. But the New York State Gaming Commission has just recommended licenses to nine operators: FanDuel, Bally Bet, BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, PointsBet, Resorts World, Rush Street Interactive, WynnBET and Kambi.

In a separate but related agreement, MSG Sports and MSG Entertainment have named BetMGM Official Betting Partner of the New York Knicks and Rangers, along with Madison Square Garden in MSG’s first foray into mobile gaming.

To date, New York has limited itself to offering sports betting to on-site sports betting at four commercial casinos. State legislature passed a bill this spring to allow servers of these casinos to power mobile sports betting statewide. Full implementation of mobile betting is expected in time for the Super Bowl.

The Manning family’s deal with Caesars includes three-quarters of retirement – father Archie and sons Peyton and Eli – as well as third brother, Cooper, whose son, Arch, is the # 1 QB rookie in the 2023 class. The former Mannings will be making appearances, filming commercials and promoting responsible gaming on behalf of Caesars, which is currently operational in 20 states. New York will be its 21st state and 15th with a mobile presence. Caesars acquisition of sports betting giant William Hill in April and relaunched its mobile sports betting application in August.
