Woman accused of leaving 2 dogs in the trunk of a car, killing them

SINGAPORE – A woman was charged on Wednesday (June 23) for failing to remove two French Bulldogs from her car trunk, resulting in their deaths.

Sabrina Sim Xin Huey, 29, has been charged with two counts under the Animal and Bird Act relating to the deaths of dogs.

According to his indictment, Sim did not take the dogs out of his car trunk when he reached the open parking lot of his Yio Chu Kang residence at 2:30 p.m. on August 25 last year. She reportedly transported the two dogs from Veeragoo Close to Hougang but left the two animals in the trunk of the car for over an hour and a half.

Sim is said to have caused the dogs unnecessary pain and suffering, resulting in their death.

Appearing in court in person, Sim said she would seek legal advice. His next court hearing has been set for July 14.

If convicted of failing to do an act, causing unnecessary pain or suffering to an animal, Sim can be jailed for up to two years and / or fined up to $ 40,000. .
