Kanye West has never been afraid to drop a basketball benchmark.

From give and go with Jay-Z on “Big Brother” to Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy jumping over Jumpman on “Facts,” the 44-year-old Chicago rapper has always brought field inspirations in the check-in booth.

Now it looks like Ye is ready to venture all the way to basketball.

Besides the lyrics and Kim Kardashian praising the Staples Center for Yeezy to celebrate his birthday, we didn’t get to see a ton of Ye’s basketball practice. There have always been Bulls’ uniform rumbles that never materialized but never anything concrete.

This is changing now.

With the creation of the Donda Academy in California and an apparent YZY BSKTBL sneaker on the way, it looks like Kanye is really going there this time around.

The YZY BSKTBL sneaker, which Yeezymafia on Instagram says will cost $ 260 and come in a “3D Slate Blue” colourway, features a knit design with what looks like compression ankle support and a Wave Runner-esque sole. . Maybe Jahki Howard will wear this sneaker in the future.

Howard, a five-star sophomore, has reportedly transferred to Donda Academy West, located in Simi Valley, Calif., And will be dressing and playing ball for school next season. It is also reported that two other prospects, Robert Dillingham (UNC engagement) and Jalen Hooks (four star prospect) have made their choice and will travel to Donda Academy to join Howard.

How West’s basketball academy works remains to be seen, and as a handful of alternative high school basketball and sports options have failed in recent years (LaVar Ball’s JBA and Bishop Sycamore), it is it may not end positively, but one thing is clear: Kanye appears to be deep in basketball. Whether to start a high school basketball cold war in California with the Sierra Canyon backed by Drake and LeBron is up for debate, but it’s clear Donda Academy is gearing up for the future.
